Maria Allen is a passionate storyteller and champion of all things local. She is the Co-Founder of PageView Media as well as SOUTH SHORE Home, Life & Style, an upscale magazine dedicated to celebrating life in the seaside towns south of Boston. Launched in the spring of 2019, the magazine is published quarterly and is filled with beautiful imagery and thoughtfully curated articles that aim to inform, entertain and inspire. The magazine showcases fine home design and décor, top area restaurants and boutiques, dynamic arts and culture and inspiring people in the community. Maria previously served as the Editor of South Shore Living, Plymouth Magazine and Hingham Magazine and her work has appeared in numerous other New England publications. When she’s not busy scouring the South Shore for inspiring people to profile, she enjoys hanging out with family and friends and spending time at the beach with her 7-year-old son, Dominic.

Maria dives into her story and background working on various New England publications and talks about the publishing industry and the story behind the start of South Shore Home, Life & Style. She talks about the magazine itself - diving into the behind-the-scenes that go on when creating issues as well as her focus on all things local and how she and her team work to come up with new ideas. Maria touches on tips for getting media exposure and how she and her team work with collaborators in order to highlight local businesses. She also talks about how to get involved with the magazine and what that process looks like. We discuss the Best of the South Shore and what goes into creating it. We also discuss favorite stories and issues that she has produced. Maria dives into what growth looks like for SSHLS as well as her role as a working Mom.
