I was on a weight loss journey from 2016 all the way until late 2020 that was soley focused on my weight. I had been mislead to believe that no matter what I would be healthier if I lost weight but that was definitely not the case for me ESPECIALLY because I went about the weight loss in such an unhealthy way but the tricky part was that it was hard to see my actions as unhealthy thanks to diet culture and the fitness industry. My weight loss was celebrated SO much and no one knew the things I was doing that are so common in our society nowadays that CAN be detrimental to our health.
I wanted to create this episode not to scare you away from diets but to give you a more FULLER picture. I created today's episode because I was under the impression for a long time that good for weight loss meant good for you but have since learned that things that are good for weight loss aren't always good for you and that you can choose the things that ARE good for you and they can be good for weight loss.
Of course, I no longer recommend weighing yourself, setting a goal weight or making weight loss your main goal BUT if you are doing it for YOU, have healed your body image (know weight loss doesn't make you more worthy or beautiful etc) and want to go about it in a healthy, sustainable and fun way then this episode is for you! And this episode will also support you if you just want to be healthier and feel your best physically AND mentally!
Don't forget to tag me on Instagram @_leahtang after you listen please with your takeaways! It makes my whole day when I get to see who listened and what you enjoyed about the episode!
