This week John is excited to share a pair of conversations with his friend, LA Chargers running back, entrepreneur, and community leader Austin Ekeler, and Colleen McNutt, founder of Lightning Fit, the revolutionary EMS workout technology that has the potential of transforming the way we workout and achieve our fitness potential.

To kick things off, John sits down with Austin for a chat about his rise to the NFL and the challenges that his physical stature presented in his early career. Austin shares how seizing on the opportunities we are given is key to differentiating ourselves in competitive environments. Austin entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent following the 2017 NFL Draft and first served in the backup role to Melvin Gordon in Los Angeles. After Gordon was signed by the Broncos, Ekeler took over as the lead back for the Chargers. On March 16, 2020, Ekeler signed a four-year $24.5 million contract extension with the Chargers and began establishing himself as a key competitor, and popular personality within the league.

In addition to Austin’s accomplishments on the field he has also established himself as a force for change and disruption off the field. Alongside a host of other athletes, influencers, and celebrities, Austin has launched The Eksperience, an interactive menu of personalized engagements and offers that allows fans to customize experiences and interactions with their favorite personalities from all walks of entertainment, fashion, and athletics. Aside from his entrepreneurial ventures Austin also discusses the importance of giving back through his work with The Austin Ekeler Foundation, a non-profit committed to providing opportunities to those in need by bringing reusable resources to communities across the nation that can be utilized by a large number of people for many years to come.

In our second segment, John welcomes the founder of Lightning Fit, Colleen McNutt to the show for a quick look at how her inspirational story of how recovering from a serious health challenge led her to discovering the benefits of EMS technology to regain her energy, mobility and life. Colleen shares how after graduating from Columbia University where she was a division one volleyball star she joined a top 4 accounting firm in New York only to fall victim to a rare mitochondrial disease that robbed her of mobility, freedom, and joy. After searching the globe for a treatment that could restore her strength, Colleen discovered EMS technologies. And after experiencing amazing results with the technique, Colleen decided to put her IVY League education to work and founded Lightning Fit, the industry leader in at-home EMS fitness and technology. They quickly made their impression in professional sports, as they were featured in the LA Dodgers Symposium and have the attention of other MLB and athletic organizations.
