Sarah was in her master's program for mental health counseling when she began to recognize how often her voice was being silenced within the LDS church. Her academic work, her research was getting notoriety but it wasn't until a peer utilized her insights to further learning for a class, that she realized just how long her voice had been muted within the Mormon community.

To relieve us of our best men. They relieved us of Joseph and Hyrum. I don’t want the advice or counsel of any woman. They will lead us down to hell. When I want sisters and the wives of the members of this church to get a relief society, I will summon them to my aid, but until that time let them stay at home. And if you see females huddling together, veto the concern. And if they say Joseph started it, tell them it is a damned lie, for I know he never encouraged it.
