Dave Smith is one of the best track and cross country coaches around. And he has the national titles to prove it. But for someone as successful as Smith is, it’s wild to think that almost none of it happened. He could have been a pharmacologist—and even has the doctorate to prove it. But it wasn’t the right fit. Passion for what he does drives Smith to be great. And it rubs off on those around him. He doesn’t lack confidence. If Dave Smith has his way, there will be plenty more championships to come at Oklahoma State.
