John-Michael Wright grew up in North Carolina. Naturally, he was a Tar Heel fan – until he discovered Oklahoma State while playing video games with his brother. Coming out of high school, Wright only had five college offers. Zero from major programs. On signing day, he chose to play for High Point University in North Carolina. After the 2021-22 season, Wright entered the transfer portal. This time, the offers came rolling in. If you told 12-year-old John Michael Wright he’d one day play for the school from the video game, he probably wouldn’t believe you. It’s even a little surreal for the 22-year-old John-Michael who lives out his childhood dream every day.
