Monica Barnes and Janelle Goins share their stories of how they got through that difficult time and found hope, health, and happiness along the way. They share beautiful insights and offer ideas and tips for those who lose a spouse as well as for those who wish to help others who are experiencing loss.
Tips for getting through loss
Find a reason to get up and get dressed every morning
Write in a Gratitude journal – every day find one thing to be grateful for
Never go 24 hours without some type of human interaction
Do something that gives you purpose and brings you joy, i.e., creating something, traveling etc.
Be open to trying new things

Tips for friends and family
Just be there for the person, drive them, sit with them, take them to lunch/dinner etc.
Don't just ask – what can I do?
Give specific suggestions of what you can do to help, i.e., bring dinner, clean bathrooms, mow lawn, rake leaves etc.
