Description

In this episode of Literally First Class, Keri shares with us a conversation she had with her family that got her thinking about entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurs sometimes can be viewed as the black sheep of the family just because they didn't follow a traditional career or a 9-5 job. However, this doesn't mean that working for yourself is easy. On the contrary, it takes a lot of courage.

Taking a leap of faith and leaving the corporate world is indeed an act of courage. Entrepreneurs might have more freedom and flexibility, but they leave behind - at least at first - some kind of stability that the corporate world provides. One might say that another thing left behind is the constant stress. However, jobs that involve high levels of stress are not more important.

It's not a competition of who feels more pressure. Everyone feels stressed in several different ways, and everyone has their own fears and weaknesses to deal with. Our family's perceptions of how we manage our work and what we do for a living are just perceptions. You can acknowledge them, but everyone is fighting their own battle.
