Anthony Phillips is originally from Belleville, South Africa and has been a member of the Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, and Colorado Rockies organizations. In 2018 Anthony became a coach for the minor league affiliate of the Oakland A's and is now one of the owners of the Arizona Badminton Center here in Mesa, Arizona where he has also started training and competing.
