On today’s Pathway to the (Y), we are joined by Yeni Garcia and Alma Galeana. Yeni is the Sr. Director of Family Services and Strategic Partnerships. Alma is a former participant of the Y’s Early Learning Readiness Program and today serves as facilitator. Today, they share their pathways to the (Y) and how they continue to support the Y’s bilingual community.

Alma shares how her sister encouraged her to enroll in the ELR program. Alma enrolled in the program when she saw the progress her nephews were making due to the ELR program. When Alma’s daughter started pre-K, her teachers were very impressed with the skills she was bringing to class. This led Alma to being employed at the Y.
Yeni shares how her post-graduation job search led her to discover the ELR program. She began her 16 year Y journey in an early learning childcare center. Yeni shares what she loves about the Y.
