Join Camilla Frost-Brewer (she/her) and Dr. Tobias Spears (he/him) for the third episode of D&I Diaries, the show that uncovers diverse stories in the BSD. For this installment, Camilla and Tobias are joined by Dr. Christina Roman. Christina is a Program Manager for Diversity & Inclusion in the BSD, and she also works with the Office of Graduate and Postdoctoral Affairs in the BSD to recruit and retain URM graduate students and postdocs. Christina received her PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biophysics from UChicago in September 2021, and has been an active and vocal advocate for DEI inclusion in science/medicine her entire tenure here. Tune into this episode to hear about how Christina came to DEI work by way of science, and how centering empathy is a cornerstone of her practice.
