Misconceptions About Acceptance
- You must accept everything, or you won't find happiness – Happiness is not something you find, it's something you allow yourself to feel. You are the reason happiness exists. Without you, there's no possibility of living happy.
- It's extremely difficult and the most important thing to master – It's only as difficult as you want it to be. Acceptance is the path of least resistance. The more you resist, the harder things become to accept.
- You must heal first before you accept anything – We heal from our acceptance, not the other way around. Accepting the information is what opens our mind to the truths of what we need to heal.
- You haven't accepted everything yet, so you aren't making progress – Accepting one this is accepting everything. Accepting that you've got a problem is accepting the work ahead of you to solve the bad habit.
- Everyone deserves your acceptance – The only person that needs to accept you, your behaviors, and your existence is you. Everyone else will only understand you through their level of perception.
