This year, we are walking through every single part of starting a successful small business, especially assuming that you have very, very little money. This week we're talking about how to name your new business. I'll give you our first step right after this.
My process for coming up with the new name is very different from most people. Most people start with the trademark and work from there. That's my last step. What I want to do first is make a list of about 10 to 12 words that are related to your product. So for example, if you're starting a Christmas light installation business, your list should include Christmas holiday celebration, party lights, decorations, trees, Clark Griswold, all of those sort of things.
