Marie is starting a new chapter in her life. She lives on a small island with her parents and a small fishing community. Her mother suffers from a mysterious illness that leaves her in a catatonic state. Everyone on the island is wary of her family, which causes Marie to feel even more isolated. When she begins experiencing strange changes to her body, Marie begins to suspect everyone is hiding a secret from her.
