Some endocrine-disrupting chemicals (EDCs) have been linked to an increased risk of thyroid cancer. Specifically, certain PFAS (per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances) and other chemicals, like PBDEs (polybrominated diphenyl ethers) and phthalates, have shown a positive association with thyroid cancer risk in studies.
