The one about NYC.

Welcome to our first solo cast! Rose wasn't able to be here today so I'm on my own. It worked out well though because now I can tell you all about my NYC trip! I went to NYC for one of my best friend's wedding and it was amazing! She got married on the rooftop of a hotel and the backdrop was epic!

Traveling solo can be intimidating but with a little common sense and planning, it can be a super empowering experience . The most nerve wracking thing for me was riding in a Lyft or Uber with a stranger. I know people do it all the time but i don't where i live. Here's some steps I took to reassure myself.

  1. Make sure the license plate number on the car matches what is on the app
  2. Ask the driver his/her name and make sure it's the same as what's on the app
  3. Check the child lock on the door before getting into the car
  4. Share your ride details with friends or family
  5. Carry a @shes_birdie with you
  6. Don't get dropped off at your hotel. Get dropped off a block away and walk
  7. Don't over share your life or personal info or where you're staying

Most likely nothing will ever happen but it can help put your mind at ease by taking this precautions. It's amazing how getting out of your comfort zone can be very empowering.

It makes you realize you are capable of doing more. Many times when we step out, that's when other doors open and opportunities we otherwise wouldn't have come our way. The magic happens outside our comfort zone.

Have you traveled solo? Have you made an uncomfortable decision only to see other doors open as a result? Would love to hear about it! Thanks for joining me! Rose will be back next week!
