Description

Today Jaden discusses some of the stories that we tell ourselves that just aren't true. If you've ever told yourself you can't do something, or if you have ideas about the way things are that are passed down from your parents, grandparents, or maybe even your own experiences, chances are they aren't true.

Its hard to break away from what you "know" and figure out that it may actually not be true. So we hold on desperately to what we know because if we do that, then who are we? It becomes our identity.

Here are some stories that you may have heard, from the aspect of the core 4(power, passion, purpose, and production)

  1. Power: "I'm big boned". "That is easy for you to say, you're young and fit", "I'm too old for this" "I just can't lose weight", "I have a hard job, I need my rest when I get home so I don't need to exercise" "I have a manual labor job, so I don't need to watch what I eat or workout. I move enough"
  2. Passion: "I'm never going to find the one", "There must be something wrong with me because none of my relationships ever work", "They are the ones causing all the problems, I'm not doing anything"
  3. Purpose: "If I don't love what I do, I can't do it", "I HATE what I do", "I can't be a ... thats not who I am", "I'm just not a morning person".
  4. Production: "trade jobs aren't careers", "I need to get out of construction and go tocollege", "a college degree is all that is going to make me money","If you're not smart enough for college, you'll just work in construction"

Theres a common theme here with the stories we tell. Avoid the "justs" and "but". I could do that "but" I just don't have time. etc.

When you start to reframe these things, a whole new life of possibilities opens up to you. There is no reason that some arbitrary story should standing in your way the way that they do
