"Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God" – (Jesus Christ)
Heart, according to biblical term, is a centre of human will, feeling, and intellect. A pure heart is where our desire, emotion, and understanding altogether aligned with God's heart comes from. Since desire for truth, feeling of love, and knowledge of God come from a pure heart, want for falsehood, sense of hatred, and intent of revenge are produced by an impure heart. Therefore, to be able to see God with eyes of our heart, we are required of having pure desire, mood, and understanding in line with God's heart. Then the blessedness of the ability to see God will be ours.
Jesus' saying of "to see God" can be understood as to be admitted into God's presence and awestruck by experience in it, and thus being satisfied by His grace.
God gave us His Son, Jesus Christ, who bears his image so that we can see the glory of invisible God in him. He is the One who awakens our insensitive spirits numbed by sin and thus enables us to see God.
So, in faith, let us trust Jesus Christ's awakening power by allowing him to help us purify our desire, feeling, and intellect in order to see the beauty of God with the eyes of our heart.
