Las Fuerzas Democráticas Sirias (SDF), que defienden los territorios de Rojava en el noreste de Siria, se han visto obligadas a firmar un acuerdo de alto el fuego con el gobierno de transición sirio. Desde el derrocamiento del gobierno sirio por la facción militar HTS en 2024, el nuevo gobierno ha estado intentando recuperar los territorios controlados por la Administración Autónoma del Noreste de Siria, también conocida como Rojava. Después de que la Guerra Civil dejara a los kurdos indigenas en la hambruna en 2012, estos llevaron a cabo una revolución feminista, anticapitalista y antiautoritaria, tomaron el control de grandes extensiones de la región y declararon una sociedad autónoma. Durante las últimas dos semanas, el gobierno sirio ha estado invadiendo partes de la región autónoma. La semana pasada, las SDF se vieron obligadas a firmar un acuerdo de alto el fuego, que incluía concesiones como el reconocimiento oficial del idioma kurdo en siria. El pueblo de Rojava, que no está bajo el control de las SDF, ha declarado una movilización general para defender Rojava. Como parte de la invasión, el gobierno ha liberado a miles de combatientes del ISIS que estaban recluidos en prisiones controladas por las SDF.
The Syrian Democratic Forces, or SDF, which defend the Rojava territories in Northeast Syria, have been forced to sign a ceasefire agreement with the Syrian transitional government. Since the overthrow of the Syrian goverment by the HTS military faction in 2024, the new government has been attempting to retake the territories controlled by the Autonomous Administration of Northeast Syria, also known as Rojava. After the Civil War left the indigenous Kurds to starve in 2012, they carried out a feminist, anti-capitalist, anti-authoritarian revoultion and took control of huge portions of the region, and declared an autonomous society. Over the past two weeks, the Syrian government has been invading parts of the autonomus region. Last week, the SDF was forced to sign a ceasefire deal, which included concessions such as the official recongition of Kurdish language in Syria. The people of Rojava, which are not subjects of the SDF, have declared a general mobilization of support to save Rojava. As part of the invasion, the government released thousands of ISIS fighters that were held in prisons by the SDF.
