In Minnesota, The Intercept has obtained data from ICE showing that sixty three percent of the 4,000 people arrested during the intensive ICE attacks earlier this year have no criminal record. ProPublica reports that the Justice Department quietly ended more than twenty three thousand criminal investigations in its first six months and redirected its resources toward immigration enforcement. The dropped cases included probes into terrorism, drug trafficking, fraud, labor corruption, and environmental crimes, many of which investigators had been working on for years. In Louisiana, federal immigration agents entered the Fort Polk military base and detained the wife of an Army staff sergeant, just days after their wedding.
