According to Gaza's health ministry, Israel has killed 60,332 people and injured 147,643 since October 7th, 2023. A new report shows that since that time, Israeli soldiers have shot 168 children in Gaza. In 95 of these cases, the child was shot in the head or the chest. Two thirds of these 95 children were under the age of 12. The investigation was based on the limited amount of documentation available, such as death certificates, eye witness accounts, interviews with doctors, and information from humanitarian groups. However, one British surgeon who was interviewed as part of the report told the BBC that he had simply lost count of how many children with gunshot wounds he had treated. The ministry of health also reported that, since May 27th, when Israel implemented its controversial new system for distributing humanitarian aid, 1,383 Palestinians seeking assistance have been killed, and more than 9,218 wounded.
