Questions to ask your "advisor" to see if they are just a sales agent: 1) Do you have a series 65 or 66 license? If the answer is "NO" you are working with a sales person. 2) Do you operate under the Fiduciary standard? If the answer is "NO" your advisor MAY not be putting your interest first. 3) Is the product your recommending sponsored by the same company that you WORK FOR? (in other words- is the logo on the policy or investment fund the same as the logo on their business card)If the answer is "YES" than you may not be getting unbiased advice. You want to make sure you are getting advise that is best for YOU and not for the COMPANY that your "advisor" is working for.
