Trigger warning: we talk in-depth about alcohol use in this episode.
We find out Casey’s husband isn’t actually underground that much. We talk about how annoying it is to have to schedule things around nap times or after bed or have your husband take the day off to get your hair done.
Absolutely no one asked us but in this episode, we address the idea that “mommy wine culture” is toxic and detrimental to motherhood. (Obviously, there are certain circumstances that are toxic and where a person needs treatment or help, and we’ve listed links below for that.) But really what we wanted to talk about in this episode is how claiming “mommy wine culture” is bad or toxic is just another way to shame moms or make moms feel guilty for something they enjoy.
We talk about our feelings about the mom labels of “crunchy”, “scrunchy” and “silky”. We can all drink whatever we want at the same table. It’s other people who are pinning us against each other for literally no reason.
Casey talks about how she almost did Dry June and Elizabeth talks about attending her oldest’s kindergarten graduation.
