This week I'm interviewing my co-host Nick Browne about his life changing experience with MDMA assisted therapy fighting in the Afghanistan war for 10 months and getting in firefights 50% of the time he was over there.
We dive deep into how Nick's upbringing created defense mechanisms he needed growing up in a tough neighborhood in California. Nick and I discuss why 9/11 made him want to join the Army and get deployed in the war.
What it was like getting in regualr gun battles and seeing people get show and pass away, and how seeing all this drove him to pain pills, booze and bar fights on a weekly basis.
At the lowest he was free basing Oxycontin and realized he needed to make a change and left to go hike the Appalachian Trial for six months and a heavy mushroom trip helped him realize that he was an asshole to a lot of people in hs life.
After lots of meditating, reading and some therapy Nick applied for MDMA assisted therapy in Boulder Colorado and it fundamentally changed his life in a number of ways.
From letting go of the guilt for what he did in the war, to finally being able to relax and even some crazy lessons from Jellyfish in his MDMA sessions.
