Welcome to the episode 14 of "Women In The Music Industry", a podcast that shines a spotlight on the remarkable women who are breaking barriers and making their mark in an industry that has long been dominated by men.
Today's episode features the incredibly talented and versatile West End Musical Theatre Actor & Singer... Cilla Silvia!
Cilla's life journey spans from the shores of Sri Lanka to her adoption in Sweden, to her current base in the vibrant city of London. Her theatrical journey has led her through many diverse genres such as "We Will Rock You" and “American Idiot”, to her involvement in the iconic "West Side Story" by Leonard Bernstein and “Sweeney Todd” by Stephen Sondheim. Recently, she sang opera from "La Traviata" as part of the "Pretty Woman" rendition at The Savoy Theatre in London's renowned West End.
Hear how Cilla went from being inspired by a violin performance in church as a little girl in small town Sweden, to being blown away by "Mama Mia" in New York City in her early twenties, to attending prestigious performing arts schools, to gracing some of the world's most impressive stages as a world class actor, dancer and singer.
