Fr. Elias Mary Mills, F.I. served as Rector of the Shrine Church at the Shrine of Our Lady of Guadalupe in Lacrosse, Wisconsin from 2016 to 2021. He was ordained in May of 2000.

After the vows/ceremony, a deacon of the Church (Novus Ordo) went up and gave a blessing and a prayer. Is this allowed by the Church?

• When having masses said for deceased loved ones who were Protestant, is there any special way to go about it? I also had a grandfather who was a freemason and wondered if it was OK to have masses for the repose of his soul?
