A recent client's dilemma about financial security highlighted how money, even when not actively needed, can induce anxiety. This underscores a deep-seated belief that our security rests solely on the amount of money in our bank accounts.
The pivotal question arises: Who has been responsible for all the money you've made so far? The answer? You. Thus, the real question is: Is your greatest asset the money in your bank account or you, the earner?
Shifting your perspective, detaching your self-worth from your net worth, and believing in your innate ability to generate wealth is paramount. It's not merely about stating your abilities, but truly believing in them.
An Intangible Asset Audit is a crucial exercise. It involves recognizing the intangible assets within and around you that can be leveraged to generate, hold, and preserve wealth.
Intangible assets fall into three categories: Productive Assets, Vitality Assets, and Transformative Assets. Each plays a unique role in building and preserving wealth.
Productive Assets: These are the assets you can use to generate wealth. They encompass your personal brand, connections, physical surroundings, and your knowledge and skills.
Vitality Assets: These are elements that support your emotional, physical, and cognitive well-being. They include your emotional well-being, mental maintenance, physical health, and spiritual growth.
Transformative Assets: These are assets that aid in evolving and adapting to new circumstances. They involve building new connections, pushing boundaries physically and mentally, learning new skills, and aligning your actions with your purpose.
This exercise helps you gain clarity on what makes you unique. Remember, nobody can be you, and that's something worth believing in. When you trust in your ability to create wealth, that's when true freedom begins.
