Description

This week Zoe takes us around the world to talk about different death rituals from different cultures. Starting with Western traditions like the unnatural preservation of bodies and the shift in mourning customs due to events like the Black Plague and the Victorian era. It then explores unique practices from around the world, such as Sati in India, mortuary cannibalism in the Wari' Tribe, sky burials in Tibet, professional mourning in China, elaborate funerals in Toraja, Indonesia, and the Japanese culture of cremation.
