Joining Jill and Doron on the sixth episode of the podcast, to tell us his story, is Toby Tenenbaum (1994-97), the school’s last Head Boy.
Toby came to Carmel College by following in the footsteps of no less than 13 close and extended family members, including his sister Rayna, uncle Martin Kaye (who was our guest on the second episode of the podcast), and close cousins Howard Ronson (of blessed memory), Oliver Refson and Jeff Serlin, to name a few. Head Boy for a day (well, four months actually), Toby stayed at Carmel until its final day in 1997. For the past twenty years, he has lived in NYC, where he works at Super Soccer Stars.
Hear Toby tell us about the school announcing its shock closure two weeks after he was appointed Head Boy (in March 1997), and the important role Carmel played in his personal academic redemption arc.
Thank you, Toby, for turning us again to Carmel days!
