We don't know what to do — we're in the middle of the tangle and can't see the shape of it; we need an outside perspective
We know what to do, but our hearts fail us — we need encouragement, someone to "hold our arms up" like Aaron and Hur did for Moses
We just need someone to hold the space — something already happened, and we need a companion while we pick up the pieces
