Hooooo-boy. This episode is seriously showcasing me at my wit's end, as far as anxiety goes.
As the episode title implies, my capacity for people trying to push my boundaries a few days before my surgery is at its limit.
The struggle of wanting to be in Mom Mode as much as possible before surgery, but also wanting to make sure I get all my work done so I can maybe pay off some of the medical bills that I now know are coming my way.
The stress level must is astronomical because despite all the anxiety over surgery, there's a part of me that's looking forward to a nice 5+ hour nap where no one will be asking me things, lol.
By the way, this pre-surgery anxiety was expected and this is the Reddit post by MamaO2D4 I referred to in this episode. This really helped me and described exactly what I was going through in this episode.
If this podcast were a Starbuck's order, it would be a VENT-Y because this episode is kind of an anxiety rant and venting session. Believe it or not, a lot was edited out.
Shout-out to Tom from MySpace and the songs of Plain White T's that aren't "Hey There, Delilah."
My relationship advice is to find someone who looks at you and knows when you need to go for a drive or the store, just to dilly dally.
Isn't it funny how one of my favorite places to go to unwind is the casino, even though I don't care about gambling or drinking or partying? I just love people watching and the lights and buzzes and super mall feel to it.
I'm also getting in one of the last drives before I won't be able to drive for a few weeks following surgery in this episode.

Only a few more episodes of the season to go and this might be the worst of it. As I'm writing this, I'm about 7 months out of surgery and can rightly classify this episode as Peak Anxiety. The more I have to re-listen to these episodes as I edit them and write the show notes, the more I want to go back and tell that Anxious Emily to breathe and take it easy (which is easier said than done, and, honestly, I doubt I would have listened).
