Description

If you have ever experienced that fluttering feeling that lurks in the pit of your stomach when you are worried or excited about something, then you might think you know what anxiety feels like.

But if you consistently put other people’s needs before your own, find it hard to switch off or present a different version of yourself than the one that feels true to you, then you may be experiencing a kind of anxiety that I had no idea existed.

High Functioning Anxiety is described as ‘silent anxiety’ where the sufferer may appear confident and successful on the outside, but on the inside is full of worry, self-doubt and battling with perfectionism. Pretending to be something you are not just to feel as though you ‘fit’ in or to feel accepted is exhausting, and is why I am so grateful to have shared a conversation with my guest for this week’s episode.

Dr. Lalitaa Suglani is an award-winning psychologist, who through her own journey of self-discovery, knows first-hand that it is possible to make peace with our inner dialogue and to flip it around into a tool to help us fulfil our potential.

So, if you are struggling to understand why you feel and behave in certain ways and need some help on how to quieten the voice of self-doubt, then I hope this episode will help you find your way.

If you enjoyed this episode of Flip It, I would be hugely grateful if you could rate, review and subscribe. It really will help me to discover and share more stories and voices that deserve to be heard.
