About the Author: Gary J. Whittenberger, PhD, is an independent writer and retired psychologist, now living in Valley Village, California. He was formerly a leader in many freethought groups in Tallahassee, Florida. He received his doctoral degree from Florida State University, after which he worked for twenty-three years as a psychologist in prisons. He has written many published articles on philosophy, religion, science, and psychology.
