In this episode of Growing Your Business with Buddy Broyles, host Buddy Broyles sits down with Catherine Brenneman, co-owner of RoofHero and StormHero . With 14 years of experience in the roofing industry, Catherine shares how her female-owned, process-driven business sets itself apart in a crowded Texas market . Unlike traditional "storm chasers," RoofHero operates with background-checked W-2 employees instead of commission-based salespeople, prioritizing customer respect, transparent pricing, and sustainable, impact-resistant materials .
Catherine breaks down why homeowners should contact a trusted roofer before their insurance company after a storm, how her technology-backed approach earned RoofHero a spot on six of the top ten Texas insurance carrier lists, and how sister company StormHero protects families with residential lightning systems and storm shelters .
A Female Perspective in Home Services: Catherine entered the roofing industry after noticing contractors often ignored female household decision-makers and underserved vulnerable groups like senior citizens .
Employee-Based Quality Control: RoofHero operates with background-checked W-2 employees and dedicated on-site construction managers rather than 1099 commission-driven sales reps .
Insurance Carrier Trust: RoofHero's strict internal processes and deep financial vetting earned them a spot on six of the top ten Texas insurance carriers' managed repair programs .
Call a Roofer First, Not Insurance: After a storm, homeowners should consult a trusted roofer before filing a claim to properly evaluate non-obvious local damage and navigate complex claims .
Commitment to Sustainability: Every roof installed by RoofHero uses at least an impact-resistant shingle to lower premiums, reduce landfill waste, and survive severe Texas hail .
Beyond Roofing with StormHero: Partnering with Roy Ponder, Catherine co-founded StormHero to protect families from unpredictable weather with residential lightning protection and storm shelters .
Instant Digital Quotes: RoofHero provides instant, binding estimates directly on their website for homeowners who prefer a modern, hassle-free ordering experience .
