Empty Bowls McKinney fights hunger locally, raising funds exclusively for nonprofits that provide food to those in need — donating $82,000+ in recent years across three key beneficiaries: Community Lifeline, Community Garden Kitchen, and Little Free Pantries.
The event is a McKinney tradition now in its 15th year, growing from a small church fundraiser to a massive community experience expecting 1,000+ attendees at its new venue, TUPPS Brewery.
A $35 ticket gets you a handcrafted artisan bowl + tastings from 12–13 local restaurants, featuring soups, stews, mac & cheese, and more — all in a festive, music-filled atmosphere with auctions and family-friendly fun.
Volunteers and artists are the heartbeat of the event, contributing 1,300+ bowls, large-scale auction pieces, website and media support, setup/teardown work, guest guidance, and private "bowl painting parties" throughout the year.
Sponsors range from local names to national partners, including Blount Foods (makers of Panera soups), State Farm, and numerous community donors — proving that every contribution matters, financially or through time, talent, or artistic gifts.
