Summary: The Jags went food hopping around Brookline to find some of the BEST local tastes and treats. The stops included Pitaland, Las Palmas, Antonio's Pizza, Oak Hill Post, 802 Bean Company and Party Cake Bakery thanks to Burgh Bits and Bites food walking tour.

4:04    Joe - Pitaland: In the 1960s, Joe and Jocelyne Chahine, Pitaland Mediterranean Bakery owners, were on their honeymoon in Pittsburgh when a war broke out in their home country, Lebanon. Using a dollar in Joe's pocket, he built delicious, dough-rising staples with an incredible American Dream story.  Pitaland also has cheeses, deli meats, olives, and a wide range of imported specialty foods for sale and their four children play a part in everyday operation.

13:19    Corrine – Burgh Bits and Bites: Fascinated by food facts, Corrine of Burgh Bits and Bites Tour takes the jags and other neighborhood nebsters on a walk-through Brookline, highlighting small biz history, and taste-testing fan favorites.

Las Palmas: Get ready for some heat and maybe the most authentic tacos in Pittsburgh.  Las Palmas is reminiscent of street food with their taco bar on the sidewalk, which is front stage of their Hispanic grocery store. The tacos are delicious, but the experience is what truly makes it, just choose chorizo, chicken or ground beef and creatively have at it!

Oak Hill Post: Oak Hill Post is a casual neighborhood eatery offering acclaimed biscuits with in-house lemon custard, as well as breakfast and lunch. Owners Rebecca and Christian are known for having helped feed the community during the pandemic, which has extended into their business model in an uplifting, community way.

802 Bean Company: In the 802 Bean Company, expect a selection of both savory and sweet options on their menu and a highlight of local artists specializing in handmade jewelry to knick-knacks. Plus, there's a hidden gem, A PATIO, with a gorgeous, green view and space to have for your next business meeting.

Antonio's Pizza: Antonio's Pizza is a husband/wife duo bringing high-quality, homemade food to Brookline since they took over the business in June 2019. Many vegetarians rave about their vegan options while all agree the newbees are fast and friendly pizza providers.

15:51    Liam - Party Cake Bakery: At Party Cake Bakery people love their Paczki's, Polish donuts filled with either cream or fruit filling, then coated in sugar, but you must get there early because they sell out fast.  As for the bites tour, Liam didn't know the almond torte folk story about Pittsburghers having a torte demand after indulging during weddings—but it took the sweet spotlight.

20:25    Karina and Emily - North Side and South Dakota Gals: Two best friends who love to travel and eat, these gals divulge in the balance of family and food travel while showcasing what South Dakota natives are like, with one transplanting right to the North Side! Pizza talk and Deutschtown teasing fun, plus a plug for bathroom use, there's never a dull step on this trip.
