Picture a young mother, her hands full and her support gone. Maybe she’s giving birth, facing surgery, or lost her job. No relatives to watch her little ones. No one to call in the crunch. For most, these moments pile up into isolation, desperation—and sometimes, the heartbreak of seeing their children swept into foster care.
Elizabeth’s House at My Village Ministries steps in with a different answer. Our vision is a village, not a program: many families rallying to love and support to offer stability to moms and their children. Host families keep kids safe for a couple days if needed. Coaches help moms set and meet their goals. Mentors help school aged kids. The care team meets practical needs—meals, clothes or transportation.
And the impact? Profound. Unlike the foster system, where half of children aren't reunited, at Elizabeth’s House, every child is welcomed back with open arms by their family, stabilized and supported. We show the love of Christ not by fixing, but by staying close and caring.
Listen to the podcast as Kelly Fulcher shares the vision of Elizabeth’s House at My Village Ministries with Pastor Smith Sharpe. And discover how you, too, can help—whatever your gifts, however much time you have, even the smallest gesture can mean the world to a mom in crisis.
