Names (in particular, personal names, though all are included) are as unique and self-expressive as numbers, or colours, or songs. In one sense all are of the same kind, and yet no two are truly identical; each has its own aura, orbit, way and nature. So when a parent names a child, it is in reality a magical act of great mystery and power. Even numbers are names, and an odd sort at that.
