Description

In this solo episode, I break down the Italian-American phrase "fatti gli affari tuoi" — mind your own business — which is basically the unofficial holiday motto whether we want it to be or not. With the season of opinions, questions, judgments, and unsolicited life advice rolling in like a stampede of Nonnas, I talk about why keeping your nose in your own gravy is sometimes the greatest gift you can give… to yourself.

I share a story from last Thanksgiving, when I walked into a family member's house only to be told I was "too old to have babies." Cue the internal fireworks. Meanwhile, this person doesn't even live a life I'd ever want for myself — yet there I was, spiraling. And it reminded me: why am I giving their opinion VIP access in my brain?

I also get honest about the flip side — how I sometimes care too much about the people I love, especially when I see them making choices that look destructive from the outside. I talk about how hard it is to not jump in, fix, guide, advise, or rescue… and how learning to "mind my business" is an act of love too. For them and for me.

It's a holiday pep talk, an Italian-American reality check, and a reminder that peace comes from knowing what's yours to hold… and what's not.
