Today is the sixth day of the "35 Days to Pray for the USA" prayer initiative. Today, we are praying for the Body of Christ to rise up to be the hands and feet of Jesus. We also spend time praying for the victims of Hurricane Helene and the subsequent storms.
So many of the issues that we face as a nation can be traced back to the Church not being who God has called us to be, so we are praying for the Church to rise up, to remember our calling, to BE who Jesus has created us to be and to step out in faith and power. We stepped back and allowed the government to come in and do what we are to be doing as a church.
1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT - "For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God's power."
James 1:27 NLT - "Pure and genuine religion in the sight of God the Father means caring for orphans and widows in their distress and refusing to let the world corrupt you."
Matthew 25:34-36 - "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world. For I was hungry, and you fed me. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was a stranger, and you invited me into your home. I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.'"
James 2:18 NLT - "Now someone may argue, '"Some people have faith; others have good deeds.' But I say, 'How can you show me your faith if you don't have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.'"
Colossians 3:23 NLT - "Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people."
