Today is the first World Pickleball Eye Protection Day and we are talking about it with Joan Ploem Miller who is a senior optometrist. This lady knows what she's talking about and she's a pickleball addict (so she's one of us!). Joan has seen more than her fair share of eye injuries - some incredibly serious.
Now we don't want to scare people into not playing this amazing sport - but we all need to be aware of the risks of eye injury and to know how easy it is to prevent. Taking the lenses out of a pair of glasses and wearing the frames does not protect you that well. So learn what to do and what not to do, regarding eye protection, from one of the best.
