In addition to overseeing the IU Police Academy, Maj. Stephen N. Luce is responsible for ensuring that IU Police Department staff on all IU campuses receive quality state-mandated training and other necessary training throughout the year. Luce also directly reviews all use-of-force incidents involving IUPD staff. The IU Police Academy is a satellite academy for the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy.
Luce oversees an ambitious public safety education program designed to prepare IUPD staff for challenges in the field as well as analyzing a variety of specific areas of risk that can be mitigated through training and professional development for IUPD staff.
Luce has been married for 15 years and has two sons.
