Description

In this Author Spotlight episode of Her Best Chapter, Michelle Savage and bestselling author Debra Blue talk about what it looks like to keep making expansive choices in midlife while adjusting for changing bodies, shifting priorities, and real-world constraints. They dig into Debra's upcoming Antarctic half-marathon, the tradeoffs behind travel and endurance goals, and how she decides what is still worth pursuing versus what needs to evolve. Debra shares how she keeps a long list of dreams alive without forcing every goal to look the same at every stage of life. She also covers her personal approach to money, recovery, and why she turned this next challenge into a fundraiser for families served by Dell Children's Hospital.

Debra is a two time best selling author who grew up in a military family, moving frequently and experiencing a childhood shaped by constant change. This early exposure to new places and diverse cultures sparked a lifelong curiosity about the world and the people in it. That curiosity naturally led her to pursue a degree in Cultural Anthropology, giving her a deeper lens through which to understand different societies and ways of life.

After spending time in New York City, Debra transitioned into a long and rewarding career in the tech industry, a path that has allowed her to carry on her passion for global exploration. Beyond her professional life, she prioritizes staying active and enjoys sports, believing that physical fitness is the key to continuing her adventures and seeing more of the world as she moves through midlife.
