Description

Martin Tanner explains the difference between monotheism (belief in one God) which is neither Jewish nor Christian, and monolotry (worship of only one God) which is Jewish and Christian. Martin gives examples from the scriptures which demonstrate early Jewish and first-century belief in a divine council in Heaven, comprised of deity, which meets and makes decisions. The divine council, under the direction of God (Elohim) or God (YHWH, Jehovah) convens meetings in Heaven to make decisions about,

(1) The creation of the worlds,
(2) To make humans in the image and likeness of the Gods,
(3) To see if Job would be faithful under stress and temptation, and,
(4) To supervise the events in the world and report to the divine council.
