Part 3 of Palestine and the World: History in a Time of Genocide (Denial). Dr. Ariel Salzmann discusses with Adnan the age of mass migration, displacements, dislocations and the "refugee crises" as a result of the failures and oppression described in Part 2. The "national minorities" often became refugees fleeing persecution. Framing "refugee crises" as an agent of modern history, Dr. Salzmann examines responses to these dislocations patterned conditions particularly in Eastern Europe/Russia/the Balkans and the Middle East. Ariel charts the waves of refugees that reshaped these regions from the late 19th century, during and in the aftermath of WW1, and then during WW2. The unwillingness “the West” to resettle Jewish refugees fleeing fascism in Europe led to the colonial dispossession of Palestinians in 1948 and 1967 by the newly formed zionist state of Israel.
