Description

Olivia Shave is a first-generation farmer and the CEO of Ecoewe, a family-run, award-winning farming business that's built on the principles of sustainability, innovation, and circular economies.
As an award-winning producer, including being a national finalist in the Countryside Alliance Awards and the recipient of the Sustainability Champion of the Year award at the National Women in Agriculture Awards in May last year, she is deeply committed to changing the future of farming.
In addition to running Ecoewe, she is a freelance journalist for Farming Monthly, a sustainability consultant, and has spent the last year working as the Screenings Coordinator for the documentary Six Inches of Soil—a project focused on raising awareness of soil health and its connection to sustainable farming.

Before all this, she was a teacher, and that's where her passion for education and advocacy began. She understands the transformative power of knowledge—both for individuals and for entire industries.

This belief drives her petition for the UK to embed food, farming, and sustainability into the national curriculum.

The next generation of farmers and food producers needs to be equipped with the skills and knowledge to navigate a rapidly changing world. It's time to ensure that food education, sustainability, and the value of farming are taught in schools—not just for the health of our children but for the future of agriculture in the UK.

She is calling on policymakers to act now and make food education a core part of our curriculum. Together, we can secure a sustainable future for farming and create new opportunities for young people to thrive in this vital industry.

Please join me in supporting this campaign. Sign the petition and help us raise the next generation of farmers, innovators, and sustainability leaders.
