After her death in 1952, Argentine First Lady Eva "Evita" Perón was embalmed in an elaborate process that preserved her body almost perfectly, making her one of the most famously mummified figures of the 20th century. Her corpse then endured a bizarre and tumultuous journey: hidden from political enemies, transported in secret across Argentina, stored in a Milan cemetery under a false name, and ultimately returned to Buenos Aires 16 years later, becoming a symbol of enduring devotion and political intrigue.
