Description

It wasn't a fire or a flood, in a typical sense. But at 12:30 pm on January 15, 1919, a giant storage of vat at an industrial alcohol company on Commerical Street in Boston ruptured, spilling 2.5 million gallons of black molasses syrup across the city.
