The last name Borgia is often associated with Renaissance decadence, which included sex and violence scandals at the center of the papacy of Borgian Pope Alexander VI and his two most prominent children, Cesare and Lucrezia. The latter was celebrated as a beautiful young woman, yet she is primarily known today as a notorious figure. Deserved? Perhaps not.
