Decrepitude (noun): the state of being worn out, weakened, or in decline due to old age, illness, or long use.
For most of my life, I believe the decrepitude was an inevitability of age like death and taxes. It wasn't until about 2019 that I learned it was not a foregone conclusion. Reality is that barring accidents, genetics, or disease, we can stave off the worst effects of time that are actually the physiological outcomes of poor lifestyle choices.
Teaching about this has become a passion of mine. And now, when I train, it's for the marginal decade of my life - the last ten years of my life, and to hopefully have as much vigor and vitality as possible.
So, this weeks episode is all about fighting decrepitude!
